Terms and Conditions1. How to OrderSimply browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping basket. Many of our products have several variations in size or finish - please click on the drop-down boxes to see all options. After you have finished your selection, click on the 'Go to Checkout' icon and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. We accept both credit and debit Visa and MasterCard. You may send your credit card information over the Internet with our secure server or through PayPal. Very rarely, goods may be priced or described incorrectly. In such cases, we will always contact you to advise you of the change and give you the option to cancel if such changes are unacceptable. 2. Acceptance of Order Technically, when you place an order on our site, you are making an offer for that product(s). This gives us and yourself the opportunity to cancel and/or amend an order without either party being in breach of contract. We accept both credit and debit Visa and MasterCard. You may send your credit card information over the internet with our secure server or through PayPal. Very rarely, goods may be priced or described incorrectly or out of stock. In such cases, we will always contact you to advise you of any changes and give you the option to cancel. 3. Delivery Schedule Usually, we will dispatch your order the next working day by Royal Mail 1st Class Post (for parcels under 2kg) or by FedEx 24 Hour Service (for parcels over 2kg). Therefore, you will usually receive your order within 2 working days. However, it is not a perfect world and sometimes we will not be able to dispatch until the following working day. We try to hold stock of every product, but we don't have infinite space so occasionally we will need to order one or two items. Even in this situation, we will try to deliver your order within 3 working days of placing it. Customers in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and Scottish Islands (and any other similar locations) should allow an extra day or two for delivery. Rest of Europe and World: we aim to deliver your order within 1 week of placing it Please open and check your order as soon as possible. We reserve the right to refuse any claims for damage or shortage if we have not been notified within 10 days of receipt. Please note that we cannot be held liable for any delays incurred in transit after your order has left our premises. It is a fact of life that parcels get held up in the post sometimes and may arrive a day or two later than anticipated. Fortunately, in our experience, this is not a common occurrance. We also cannot be held liable for any consequential losses incurred as a result of any delays to your order. 4. Postage & Packing Charges For orders to the UK Mainland, Anglesey and the Isle of Wight postage is FREE for orders over £100. We charge £4.99 for orders under £100. For orders to the Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and other far flung reaches of the British Isles we charge between £3 and £10 for all orders. For orders to Rest of Europe and World, we charge between £7.99 and £19.99 for orders under £200 in value, and £29.99 for orders between £200 and £500. Customers wishing to place larger orders than this should contact us directly. 5. Guarantee We guarantee all our products against mechanical defect for 2 years. Due to factors beyond our control (such as weathering, pollution, scratching etc.), we are unable to offer any guarantee on the surface finish of our metal products. The reality is that all metals will tarnish given time and the right set of circumstances. This will rarely affect their operation and can be managed. For more information please consult our Care of Finishes page or give us a call. Once in your possession, metals - when exposed to oxygen and water - will oxidise. Air is 20% oxygen and 1% water vapour so there is no escaping this even in a dry spell of weather. Fortunately, copper based alloys (like brass and bronze) do not rust like steel and iron. Instead, the surface oxidises to form a natural patina which protects the metal against corrosion. Therefore, metals - particularly those situated outside - need care. You wouldn't buy a car and never inflate the tyres or change the oil - it would soon become unusable. Architectural ironmongery should be treated with the same respect. A weekly wipe with a damp cloth and buff with a wax polish will go a long way to help slow the oxidising process. 6. Returns Unwanted Goods You have the right under UK Distance Selling Regulations to return any goods in their original and unopened condition within 14 working days of receipt for a full refund including the delivery charge you initially paid. However, we understand that this is not always possible and there are times you will need to open packaging to check a product's suitability. Where this is the case we ask that you return the goods in a condition fit for re-sale and take care to pack them in a way that is not likely to incur damage in transit. It is your responsibility to ensure the goods are returned to us in good condition and you will have to pay the costs of returning the goods to us. Where there is any dispute arising from damage to returned goods (which we have not previously been made aware of), our decision on whether to issue a refund will be final. We are happy to extend our returns policy to 30 days from receipt, rather than the 14 days specified in law. Specials and Custom Made Goods Goods which are made to your specification or specially ordered (which we do not stock) cannot be returned. You will be advised of this when you place your order. Damaged/Faulty and Shortages Goods You must notify us of any damage, shortages or picking errors within 10 days of receiving your order. After this time, we cannot be held liable for such issues and may not be able to remedy any problems. We understand that some faults may not develop until after a period of time has passed so the 10 days restriction does not apply in this case. Damaged or faulty goods may be returned for exchange or full refund including all postage costs. This does not affect your statutory rights. Your rights to return goods are protected under the UK Distance Selling Regulations which can be found at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2000/2334/contents/made 7. Privacy & GDPR Policy Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your basket and to store your details if you select that option during the Checkout process. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings but you will be unable to place orders or benefit from other features on the site. GDPR - you may heard of it and have probably received plenty of emails about it. It stands for General Data Protection Regulation and aims to give consumers greater control over how companies deal with their personal data. As you can probably imagine with a piece of EU legislation, the minutiae of it is labyrinthine and largely irrelevant or common sense. We already do all we can to comply with much of it. The following information explains - as simply as possible - how any changes as a result of it relate to our business. When you place an order with us, you provide certain information we need to process and deliver your order. This includes personal data (your name, address, telephone number and email address) and your order data (what you want to buy). We need to store your personal data to deliver your order or contact you about it. We store your order details so we can refer to them for future orders or to assist with any customer service issues which may arise. This data is encrypted and can only be accessed from the computer on which it is stored. This computer itself is stored securely with limited and protected access. We store this information for 5 years for accounting purposes and will continue to do so for another 5 years while it forms part of the contract of sale between the customer (you) and the retailer (us). After 10 years we will delete it unless you instruct us otherwise. We DO NOT store any credit or debit card information. All card transactions are encrypted via our secure payment system (SecureHosting from Monek) or via PayPal (look for the padlock icon in your browser to confirm). After your payment has been made, we cannot access your credit or debit card number, nor can anyone else. We DO NOT share your data with any third party as that sounds far too much like extra paperwork for us to be remotely interested in. You have to right to request that we delete or change your personal data at any time after you have received your order. However, doing so will mean the burden is on you to provide sufficient information should you need to make a claim under guarantee as we will have little or no record of your purchase. Therefore, it is probably sensible not to make such a request for 2 years (the length of our mechanical guarantee) after receiving your order. If you would like to make a request for removal or change of data, please contact us by email to sales[at]inbrass.co.uk with the subject heading "Data Removal" (or something similar). We promise to complete your request within 3 weeks (although usually much quicker). If you have any further queries regarding this, please contact: Mr J. Wilkinson (Manager - inbrass.co.uk) c/o Edina Lock & Key Co. Ltd. 10-12 Brandon Terrace Edinburgh, EH3 5EA |
